Creating Neurons with Lollies

What better way to learn the structure and function of a neuron than creating one with lollies? The Year 11 Psychology class thoughtfully created each section of their neuron – the dendrites, cell body, nucleolus, axon, myelin sheath and axon terminals with carefully selected lollies, and explained how each structure functioned. Learning the anatomy of a neuron prepares students for Year 12 when they learn the more complicated process of action potential and the divisions of the nervous system.
