As shared in our last newsletter, High School Musical On Stage is coming to ECC! This senior school production will premiere in July, and we can’t wait to see it all come together.
As Term 2 has started, rehearsals are well underway, with students practising lines, dance moves and musical numbers. Over the Term 1 holidays, we were also blessed with a range of props and set pieces, generously lent to us by surrounding schools. We’re so grateful for the support of our wider community, and we look forward to seeing our students and staff bring this vibrant production to life on stage.

Clay Target Shooting is not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of typical teenage girls’ hobbies. But for our Year 10 student, Chelsea, this is her reality. While most of our students and staff were relaxing during their Term 1 holidays, Chelsea was busy representing Western Australia at the 2026 National Trap Championships in Wagga Wagga, competing against the best junior shooters in the country.
She played a key role in the winning Junior State Shoulder-to-Shoulder Team, helping Western Australia secure the national title for the first time in 21 years. Chelsea also had the honour of serving as Junior Team Captain, a testament to her leadership and dedication.
Alongside this historic team success, Chelsea achieved excellent individual results, placing 16th out of 34 competitors in the Combined Carnival High Gun and 4th out of 10 in the Junior (Female) Olympic Endeavour Award.
Clay Target Shooting demands focus, discipline, and composure under pressure, qualities Chelsea continues to demonstrate at an elite level. She is now working towards her long-term goal of representing Australia at the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
We congratulate Chelsea on her remarkable achievements and look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next in her sporting journey.

Last week, we gathered as a College for our ANZAC Assembly, reflecting on and honouring the brave men and women who served our nation. With gratitude, we remembered their courage, sacrifice, and the freedoms we enjoy today.
At the start of the assembly, the college was led into a time of worship by Year 12 students Sonia and Ruramai and Secondary teacher Mrs Michelle Ford. Then followed by Year 9 students, David, Samuel and Amelia reciting emotional ANZAC day poems.
A heartfelt thank you to representatives from the Australian Army Band Perth, Miss Josephine Cymer and Mr Isaac Faithfull. Josephine shared the significance of ANZAC Day and raised the flag, while Isaac’s rendition of “The Last Post” created a moving moment of reflection. The service concluded with a minute of silence to remember those we have lost.
We are sincerely grateful to the Ellenbrook RSL for donating the beautiful ANZAC wreath.
In the final week of Term 1, our College held a number of Easter events in the lead up to the Easter weekend. It was a meaningful time of reflection on the true message of Easter and the greatest sacrifice, our Saviour laying down His life and bearing our sin on the cross.
Our Primary School held its annual Easter Walkthrough, an immersive experience where students engaged with the Easter story through Scripture and role play. We are so grateful to our dedicated staff and students who generously volunteered their time. A special thank you to Mrs Mordaunt and Mrs Falloon for their creativity and hard work in writing the scripts and designing the sets.
On the final day of Term 1, our Primary students also enjoyed the much-loved Easter Hat Parade. This fun tradition invites students to get creative by crafting their own Easter-themed hats. From bunnies and chicks to meaningful biblical symbols, the creativity on display was wonderful to see. Thank you to all the students, parents, and staff who contributed to making the day so special. Congratulations to our Easter Hat Competition winners, Rachel, Bennett, Ayva, and Mrs Erasmus for their fantastic creations.
In Secondary, the week began with an Easter assembly. The assembly featured a moving musical and drama performance by our Year 8 Dance and Music students and Year 9 Drama students. Created in collaboration with students, the piece retold Jesus’ journey from Gethsemane to the Resurrection, concluding with a bold and unified message: “Go and spread the good news, Christ is risen.”
At the end of last term, a team of our Primary students proudly represented our College at the WACSSA Swimming Carnival. Made up of students from Years 4 to 6, the team gave their all in the pool and demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship throughout the day.
We are so pleased with the efforts of every student who competed, and the way they represented our College with enthusiasm and determination.
A special congratulations to Zoe for placing 3rd overall in her year group, and to Janco for achieving an outstanding 2nd place overall.
Last month, several of our Secondary student leaders had the privilege of attending the inaugural SCEA Lighthouse Day, a special gathering of current and emerging Christian student leaders from across all SCEA schools. It was a joy-filled day of connection, where students built new friendships, spent time in prayer for their schools, engaged in heartfelt praise and worship, listened to inspiring keynote speakers, and explored practical ways to share the gospel within their own school communities.
This initiative was organised by Mr Zachary MacLachlan (Dean of Christian Living at Swan Christian College).
The day was a wonderful success, with students returning encouraged, uplifted, and full of purpose, reminded of their important role as leaders and their calling as followers of Christ.
