From the Pitch to the Court: ECC Scores Big!

It’s sporting season at Ellenbrook Christian College, and our students have been proudly representing the College across a range of interschool events with fantastic results.

A standout moment was the WACSSA Netball Carnival, where our Year 5 and 6 boys and girls displayed outstanding sportsmanship and determination. Congratulations to our Year 6 Boys A and Girls A teams for finishing 2nd overall, and our Year 5 Boys and Girls teams for achieving 3rd place.

Another highlight came from the Year 6 WACSSA Soccer Competition, where our boys’ team claimed first place, while the girls’ team earned a well-deserved third place.

Most recently, our Year 7 boys team made us proud by taking out the win in the NEAS Soccer Grand Final, earning the title of champions for 2025.

We’re incredibly proud of all our students for the effort, teamwork and passion they’ve shown. A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteers for making these opportunities possible both on and off the field!

Year 7 Dance Students Take to the Air with Kinetica Circus Excursion

Our talented Year 7 Dance students from Ellenbrook Christian College recently stepped outside the traditional dance studio and into the thrilling world of circus arts during an exciting excursion to Kinetica Circus. This unique opportunity allowed students to challenge themselves physically and creatively while gaining a new appreciation for the discipline and skill required in circus performance.

The session began with a series of warm-up games and exercises designed to energise the students and prepare them for the physical activities ahead. With enthusiasm and a willingness to try new things, they dove headfirst into the dynamic world of circus training.

Students rotated through a variety of engaging and demanding stations, including aerial lyra and silks, partner and group balancing, juggling, and plate spinning. Each activity pushed students outside their comfort zones and encouraged teamwork, focus, and perseverance.

The aerial apparatuses proved particularly popular—and challenging! Many students were initially hesitant but quickly found their confidence and strength as they climbed, balanced, and spun through the air on silks and lyra hoops. Ground-based skills, such as balancing in pairs and groups, tested their coordination and trust, while juggling and plate spinning offered a fun but deceptively difficult test of concentration and control.

Throughout the session, the students demonstrated incredible determination and resilience. Despite the physical demands of the activities, they never gave up. Instead, they embraced each challenge with courage and a growth mindset, supporting one another along the way.

This excursion was more than just an opportunity for fun—it was a celebration of effort, creativity, and the rewards of pushing personal boundaries. We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 students for representing Ellenbrook Christian College with such enthusiasm and perseverance. A big thank you also goes out to Mrs Smyth for accompanying us and providing such great encouragement to the students.

Well done to all involved!

Primary School Disco Highlights

Last Friday night, the Ellenbrook Christian College Primary School was buzzing with excitement as students from across the years enjoyed not one, but two unforgettable disco events!

Our Lower Primary students kicked off the evening with a magical Disney-themed disco. The atmosphere was filled with colour, laughter and sparkle as the children danced the night away to their favourite tunes. A special thank you goes to our incredible Year 6 Leaders, who did an outstanding job hosting the night — from leading fun dance routines to handing out numerous prizes, they ensured every student had a truly enchanting time.

Later in the evening, it was the Upper Primary students’ turn to shine at their 80s-themed disco. Dressed in their best retro outfits, students from Years 3 to 6 took to the dance floor, grooving to classic 80s hits. DJ Rolt kept the energy high with non-stop tunes, while our Year 12 Student Leaders brought the fun with a lively dance-off and a variety of entertaining activities.

A big thank you to all the staff and volunteers who helped bring the night to life. Your support made it a memorable experience for all!
